Attendance
All children enrolled at a school must, by law, attend the school whenever it is open, unless they are unable to attend due to illness, or special home circumstances. (Education Act 1989.)
It is very important to send your child to school regularly. Frequent absence severely reduces children’s progress at school.
The principal may, if satisfied that a student’s absence is justified, exempt students for up to five school days, or from 2.00 pm during school hours. All applications must be made to the principal in writing.

On the child’s return send a brief note to the class teacher stating the reason for the absence. This is to help ensure the safety and welfare of children.
If you intend to withdraw your child(ren) from the school, please inform the school as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made to assist the child’s transfer to another school.
